Gnarls In Charge

The large black man with the mile wide smile introduced the band as Trapper John and The MD's, but everyone at the sold out Electric Factory show last night in Philly knew the 13 piece group dressed up as doctors and nurses were Gnarls Barkley.
Make one thing clear folks: this year's incredible debut success of Gnarls loses nothing onstage - in fact, their stage show outdoes the album in large part to Cee-Lo's fantastic stage presence and his instant ability to connect with the audience in a genuine and fun way.
The band completely cooked. A four piece string section (dubbed by Cee-Lo as the "G-strings") played on nearly every song, and when they weren't playing they added to the party on stage by dancing and gettin' involved. Mixing it up with a couple of covers by The Doors and The Greenhornes, Gnarls Barkley fully delivered on the promise of their debut in a live setting.
