The Heavy are. Heavy, that is. The five piece hail from a town outside of Bath called Noid and are an damn hot engaging musical intersection where Muddy Waters meets Prince, where big Zep beats meet The Stooges, where Sly and The Family meet the Son of Superfly with some crazy-ass samples and soulful singing.

Their album - Great Vengeance And Furious Fire - is due in April on Counter Records/Ninja Tune and it's going to blow your mind. They're playing at SXSW and all I can is that you should consider adding this show to your dance card. Check the video below, and feel the power of The Heavy weight.
