Sleeping States

My bet is that if you like bands like Grizzly Bear, Sea Wolf, Matt Pond PA or the harmonies of the autumnal breezes at dusk, then you'll dig Sleeping States, the work of one man with a melancholian vision, Markland Starkie. Once a noise-rocker, Starkie's recordings as Sleeping States are hypnotic, minimalist, blue and brown, all tube ampular and warm. SS returns next week with a digital-only five song EP, Old vs New, on November 18, 2008 - here's a sampling, plus something that goes back a tad.
