The Return of Tommy Keene

Legendary power-popster Tommy Keene is returning with a new album in nearly three years on February 17th, 2009. In The Late Bright is being released on Second Motion Records.

The album was co-produced by Keene and R. Walt Vincent and was recorded in Keene’s Los Angeles home. Keene, originally from the Washington DC, released his solo debut Strange Alliance in 1982, however, his 1984 Places That Are Gone six-song EP brought him critical acclaim and since then he's won many fans for his jangly & rocking modern power-pop. And if you're a fan of Westerberg and R. Hitchcock to Game Theory's Scott Miller and you aren't familiar with Keene, then check out his music, please. And definitely check out his 2006 collaboration with Robert Pollard as The Keene Brothers on their album Blues and Boogie Shoes

Here's a Tommy Keene sampler of previous songs:

Circumstance - Tommy Keene
Hanging Over My Head - Tommy Keene
Lives Become Lies - Tommy Keene
Warren In The 60's - Tommy Keene

Keene with Pollard
Death of The Party - The Keene Brothers (REM wishes they wrote a song this good in the last decade!)
