Summer Cats

Melbourne, Australia's Summer Cats should give you all the shiny, noisy indie pop you need to make it through the summer and then some. These kids rock a mess of early Who, The Ronettes, Jesus & Mary, The Left Banke, Silver Rocket/Sonic Youth, Go-Betweens, Teenage Fanclub, Big Star and such. The band's album Songs For Tuesdays is out July 14th on Slumberland Records (which should tell you a bit about their C-86 indie-pop aesthete). Turn this one up.
