The Gentle Lurch

From Dresden, The Gentle Lurch remind me of a cross between Wilco, Tindersticks, Beach House and Giant Sand (how's that?). Their new album The Beat of The Heart is The Beat of The Boss is required listening, a stunning sprawling two album (CD) set that requires a little patience but you'll be well rewarded. This is sort of late night listening material, with elements of some orch-pop and jazz layered in to the lengthy songs. The trio consisting of Lars Hiller, Cornelia Mothes and Frank Heim is all about the mood and it is definitely blue.
