These United States

Slowly, steadily, and surely over the last several years These United States have become a band to reckon with. And with their new album Everything Touches Everything, singer, songwriter and lead statesman Jesse Elliot has grown completely into one of indie-rock's - no, make that American rock's best kept secrets. With diligence and hard work, Elliot has become a formidable songwriter. On the band's new album everything comes together musically (literally everything touching everything); some Petty classic rock touches, some indie-rock Pavement-like noodling, some psych-folk coloring ala Dr. Dog, and a deep rooted love for Dylan. Dig the artwork by John Mallow. The album is set for release on September 1; the band is currently on tour through October when they hit CMJ.
